How do you top the gift of three yaks?
By giving two heifers!
A heifer twofer, if you will.
Knowing the huge benefits gained from giving one heifer, two was the next logical step — but I bit off more than I could chew. I'd wanted to achieve the goal by the end of July, but by the beginning of September, we still hadn't reached even 50% of the target amount.
With so many supporting hurricane disaster relief in the United States (a far more critical and immediate need), I decided to close the drive before completion.
The final tally was about 45%, or US$922 (about HK$7,192) — still a respectable amount. It wasn't enough to buy a heifer, but by rounding up the total, I was able to purchase a yak, pig and a goat.
