That Dent Was Already There
It has always amazed me that drivers of expensive vehicles in Hong Kong often take their cars for service not to the official dealership, but instead to tiny little garages down narrow side streets.
Peering into these grubby and haphazard shops hardly fills one with confidence, yet outside the Porsches, Mercedes-Benzes and BMWs are parked and waiting. Even Bentleys and Rolls-Royces end up in such places. I can only surmise the service fees must be far lower than the dealer, hence the attraction. And the shops must certainly do decent work, or they wouldn't gain business or repeat customers.
Still I can't shake the feeling of risk every time I see one of these dodgy-looking garages, and I don't even own a car, let alone a luxury automobile.
