Suits Me Fine

I haven't worn a suit in about a dozen years.

I know, it's a crime, what with Hong Kong's endless supply of bespoke tailors. Sure, I had a couple of suits made after relocating, but after I lost a lot of weight they no longer fit and I never bothered to buy any more.

As a photographer and writer there was little need; I'm either working at home or I'm out getting dirty. I'm also not a social animal and don't dig late nights so evenings out are rare indeed. Over the years my wardrobe reduced itself to cargo pants and a small array of comfortable shirts. I wasn't lying when I said I'm just a big kid.

But with a pending vacation a suit has become necessary owing to a dress code, so I am about to visit a tailor, which while not a new experience will be enjoyable. But unlike previous purchases, this time I will begin with a Mandarin collar suit and shirts, as they do not require a tie and can be worn to formal events as well as for general use. Given my frame and build this type of suit should work well.

All I need do is choose the fabric, get measured, and in a few days I will once again have fine grownup clothing in the closet.
