Inducing Infection

So I'm on the bus heading home, with a mother and daughter standing nearby.

Minutes pass, when suddenly I feel an urgent tickle in my chest. I turn away, cover my mouth and cough exactly once to clear my airway.

When I turn around, I see that mom has covered her little girl's nose and mouth with the hand that moments before had been holding a rail.

Clearly someone has no clue how people get sick.
