It's not every day a building fails in Hong Kong, but an old five-storey residential block in Hung Hom has collapsed.
Witnesses say the collapse began when most of the external wall fell at once. Firefighters have already pulled five people from the wreckage, one confirmed dead, with another five still unaccounted for.
Two old buildings next to the destroyed block have been cleared of people in case they were made unstable during the collapse.
It's sad, but it's also a reminder to be grateful that Hong Kong is outside the major earthquake zones.
