And It Burns, Burns, Burns

If you haven't yet seen the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Festival, you might want to make time to visit.

The fire dragon is 67 metres long and is constructed from 1,000kg of pearl grass, which is then plugged with 24,000 burning joss sticks.
More than 100 people are required to hoist the fire dragon through the streets of Tai Hang.

It weighs much more than it looks. The bearers of the dragon have to rotate. The strongest carry the head, the heaviest part, and each bearer moves five paces then passes it along to the next bearer - if they are strong enough.

The 2009 festival runs October 3 and 4 at 7.30pm, Wun Sha Street, Tai Hang, Hong Kong Island.
