Mooncake Mistake

Every time moonake season rolls around, some idiot tries to steal them in bulk.

This time a moron walked into a Hong Kong chain bakery with 1,638 coupons to trade for 700 boxes of mooncakes. Never mind that staff was able discern the fake coupons from the real thing, but who in their right mind would find one guy with more than just a few coupons believable? Maybe he thought that the lucky number combination of 1-6-3-8 would be a magic talisman against being discovered.

Now the police are checking to see whether the triads are behind the scam, which wouldn't be a stretch given their endless scheming to make money: the mooncakes would have been worth HK$350,000 on the street.

Not to mention that nobody loves mooncakes that much.
