Silver Tongued Theatre

The Silver Theatre in Kwun Tong, opened September 7, 1963, is no more:

... after 46 years, during which it showed films about the lives of local people under colonialism, patriotic mainland movies and, later, mainstream films.

Barely noticed, eh? I love that: it's a good indication that folks in the Big Lychee get enough mainland propaganda without the theatre (such as the national anthem broadcast nightly before the evening news), thereby rendering such films irrelevant.

Truth be told, Hong Kongers got a greater burst of pride watching Bruce Lee in Fist of Fury.
