Big Yellow Cat, See?
The more times I hear Joni Mitchell sing Big Yellow Taxi, the more song seems the perfect denunciation of the cultural and environmental destruction carried out by the Hong Kong government in the name of progress.
The chorus itself contains the magic words that sum up such short-sightedness:
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Or in our case, more roads for more cars.
Instead of a dragon, the city's tourism logo should be a bulldozer.
