Satisfying Storm

Note to the Hong Kong Observatory: never say a tropical storm is unlikely to hit Hong Kong, because the moment you announce to the media that it's expected to move away, it'll turn and come right at us.

Then we get stupid headlines like this:

Storm prompts surprise No. 8

People wouldn't be surprised if the Observatory didn't get their hopes up. But even then, people really should know better if they live in this city because cyclones are notoriously unpredictable.

Not that folks did much complaining about the direct hit, because it meant either a full or half day off work.

The headline should have read: Storm prompts satisfying No. 8.
