Or Has An Imaginary Friend
When it comes to folks talking to themselves, there are two schools of thought: it's either a sign of insanity or intelligence.
I say it could be either, but I lean toward the latter as:
1. crazy people are easy to spot, and talking to themselves is but one symptom; and
2. everyone does it, including me; I find as I get older it helps me to keep organised.
But then there's my mother-in-law, who has conversations with herself all day long: she talks to the TV, she holds discussions with the dead fish while making dinner, and she natters away in her bedroom.
I've even heard her gabbing while taking a shower (it's not difficult; like many older Hong Kong women she's also loud, and her voice carries right through the door).
If talking to yourself is a sign of intelligence, then she's a freaking genius.
