It Should Have Yelled 'Fire'

Another H5N1 outbreak, another poultry cull, otherwise known as the 2008 Chicken Massacre.

While I was reading aboard a train the video monitor behind me ran a news update about the slaughter, which I ignored until I heard a chicken cry (and I swear I'm not making this up): "Help! Help! Help! Help!"

I glanced at the screen in time to see said bird getting its throat cut.

Either my subconscious was playing tricks on me, or Hong Kong health workers just executed the world's first articulate chicken.
