Trying to smuggle a live endangered eagle into Hong Kong by walking through a border checkpoint is either brazen or brainless.

Or both.

Some genius thought he could get away with it by wrapping the bird in plastic, carrying it in his hand and then throwing a jacket over the works to conceal it, because that wouldn't look suspicious at all.

Eagle-eyed customs agents *cough*, being no fools, found the surprise and now the intrepid stupid smuggler faces a possible $100,000 fine plus a year in the pokey.

Clearly he didn't understand the concept of hiding something in plain sight.
