Yellow Fever is a Myth

According to a recent study, the yellow fever stereotype is false.

It's not that white men prefer Asian women.

In fact, the study showed that although women have a strong preference for men of their own race, Asian women prefer a Caucasian man over a black or Hispanic partner if they're open-minded to interracial dating. This explains why there seems to be more Caucasian/Asian pairings than other mixed-race couples.

The study also showed that women are interested in ambition and intelligence, while men have no racial preferences and will date anyone, as long as she's good looking.

Yes, we're shallow. *hangs head*

So while it is true that a smattering of white males are perversely fixated on Asian females, the truth is that most Caucasian/Asian couples come about as a result of the woman's choice.

But please don't start calling this preference white fever.
