Hongcouver

According to a Canadian census, the flood of Hong Kong immigrants has finished.

Prior to the 1997 handover a massive wave of Hong Kongers washed into Canada, with most settling in either Toronto or Vancouver (prompting some wag to dub the latter "Hongcouver"; to my knowledge no one came up with "Torongkong").

Smaller but still respectable numbers also ended up in cities such as Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg, but to this day whenever I tell folks I'm Canadian, they always ask: "Toronto or Vancouver?", as though those were the only two cities in the entire country.

Prairie provinces get no respect.
