Jaws Doesn't Stand A Chance

After half a dozen Hong Kongers were killed by sharks in the 1990s, shark nets were installed at several public beaches.

Since then shark activity has been rare, but recent sightings have spawned warnings for people to avoid the water "at dawn, dusk or at night if they are bleeding or urinating, as this increases the chance of being bitten".

Urinating, huh? Good thing there are no sharks in Hong Kong's public swimming pools.

Dangerous species found in local waters include bull and tiger sharks, but the chances of someone being eaten by one of those is infinitesimal; no shark with a healthy survival instinct would dare venture near a place where its fins could end up in a soup bowl.
