Titillating Twins
When I first saw the album art for the latest Twins release, a collection of their top hits, I wondered what their record label was trying to say.
At least their costumes aren't horrendous, except for the bridal hat, but we'll just let that go.
Even dressed in a tux, it's impossible for Gillian Chung Yan-tung (鍾欣桐) to look anything like a man. That goes double for Charlene Choi Cheuk-yin (蔡卓妍).
It's a toss-up whether the images are meant to be vaguely incestuous (they're called Twins but are unrelated) or sapphic.
Or both. They're too sexy to be a joke.
I'm no prude, but most of Twins' fan base are kids, and children have enough sexuality thrown at them in the marketplace as it is. The strange thing is Hong Kongers haven't made a peep about this as far as I know.
You can bet there'd have been an uproar had it been two men that had tried a similar idea.
