A New Wishing Tree

If you're a superstitious Hong Konger, and you're no longer allowed to huck oranges and wishes onto the dying Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree, what do you do?

1. Use the peg-boards provided by the government to hang your wishes, though they water-down the tradition and aren't "fun";

2. Conveniently transfer your beliefs to a different tree, though it has nothing whatsoever to do with the legendary wish-granting powers of the original tree.

Old habits die hard.
