From the "what-the-Hell-was-he-thinking?" file comes the story of an elderly shopkeeper arrested for selling prohibited weapons from his martial arts store in Mong Kok.

Police ... seized more than 1,900 prohibited and martial arts weapons ...

Officers seized three crossbows, five extendable batons, 155 knuckle dusters, 645 sets of nunchaku, 43 machetes, 1,029 Chinese-style throwing darts, 17 Chinese-style metal flails and 13 large knives ...

Despite this treasure trove of deadly devices, police believe there is no connection to the strongest triad society in the area, the Wo On Lok. Triads prefer to stick to water pipes and standard meat cleavers when it comes to inter-gang skirmishes, or when setting out to chop someone: the fabled death by a myriad of swords.

Regardless, under the Weapons Ordinance, the shopkeeper faces up to three years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

And now you have a list of bad-boy toys you aren't allowed to have if you live in Hong Kong.
