One Man's Trash ...

The weirdness continues.

View large image Eighty old CRT monitors were found planted in the sand on a Sai Kung beach, but no one knows how they got there.

When police first arrived on scene, they found two men carting off some of the monitors, but the pair weren't responsible for them having washed up on the beach.

Everyone from the police to local villagers theorises that smugglers were to blame, whether by accidental sinking or deliberate dumping to evade customs raids.

When word got out, hikers flocked to the site to get photographs of what they called "the latest wonder of Hong Kong" before the government hauled away the evidence.

Given its ad campaigns of late, the Hong Kong Tourism Board should get right on that.
