Education Excess

Some Hong Kong parents are so serious about their kids' educations, they'll do anything to get them to study, including inflicting psychological damage.

A recent survey revealed some of the comments parents make when frustrated with a child's academic performance:

· Get out! Go away! I don't want to see you any more!

· Your sister is doing a doctorate but you have no academic talent at all!

· How come you're so useless? Look at other children! They do so well!

· I'd rather have given birth to roasted pork than to you!

· I told you not to do it and you don't listen to me!

· You're so stupid! Do you have a brain?

· I am not your mother!

· I hate you!

Small wonder some Hong Kong kids elect to jump off a building when they fail an exam.
