The Grumpiest Place on Earth
The Hong Kong Disneyland debacle has continued, but instead of rowdy, locked-out, fence-climbing visitors, the park suffered overcrowding.
Tourists who rose early ... to get into Disneyland complained that long waits had turned the dreamland into a nightmare.
Some visitors, many of whom started queuing outside the park as early as 4am ... said their impressions of the Magic Kingdom were shattered when they saw how crowded the park became.
The quote of the day:
"How can Hong Kong Disneyland let in so many people when they can't accommodate and entertain them properly?"
I agree, but people can't have it both ways. Limit entry, and you get an angry mob. Open wide, and the place gets packed.
The fault lies with Disney itself, which failed to understand that mainland Chinese get a much longer holiday for Lunar New Year than we in Hong Kong, and as such huge numbers were to be expected.
That, coupled with a park that's too small/needs more attractions, means disappointment is inevitable.
Instead of the Angriest Place on Earth, Hong Kong Disneyland became the Grumpiest Place on Earth.
