Hockey Night in Hong Kong

Believe it or not, Hong Kong has a thriving hockey league. The problem is the lack of proper rinks.

That will change when the territory's next superfluous shopping mall, Megabox, opens in early 2007 in Kowloon Bay. Included in 19 storeys of vertical retail bliss will be a full-sized rink.

The developers hope to import international teams for exhibition games, but that may not be necessary.

The South China Ice Hockey League will book that sucker in advance for years.
