I love the English language, as bad mangling makes for good humour.

English signs in mainland China are as much fun as those in Hong Kong, if only for the greater chance something will be wonky.

A massage spa across the border with separate changing areas for men and women is a perfect example.

Over the doorway on the men's side: Gentlemen.

And over the doorway in the ladies' side?

Gentlewoman.
