Lease Breaker
High divers are nothing new in Hong Kong, but every now and then one makes a spectacular splashdown.
Imagine relaxing in bed, watching TV and waiting for your wife to return home, when a body comes crashing through the ceiling and lands beside you in a heap of rubble.
That's what happened when a man suffering from chronic liver disease leapt from his 11th-floor flat and plunged onto the roof of a lower building, creating a two-foot hole along with a mess in the bedroom below.
Though unhurt, the man inside got the shock of his life when the jumper hit the bed. Though the landlord promised to repair the roof, the couple moved out; most Chinese folks won't live in a place where someone has died.
There was no word on where they moved, but it's a safe bet they didn't rent an 11th-floor flat with a recent vacancy either.
