Seahorse Surprise

When I walked into the kitchen, part of my mother-in-law's fixings for her lunch was sitting on the counter.

View large image She hasn't been feeling well for the past couple of weeks; a bowl of seahorses is her latest attempt to shake the problem.

The Chinese, among other Asians, value seahorses for their medicinal properties, using the creatures to cure illnesses such as asthma and impotence. More than 20 million seahorses are harvested each year for the Chinese medicine market.

I'll stick with oatmeal, thanks.
