Best Airport Worldwide

Chek Lap Kok, or Hong Kong International Airport, has been named Best Airport Worldwide (for the fifth consecutive year) by travellers in AETRA surveys.

View large image It's a huge difference from Kai Tak, when I landed on my first trip to Hong Kong. I recall disembarking to the tarmac amidst the reek of jet fuel before being routed to a shuttle to reach the terminal.

HKIA is bright, clean, and best of all, quiet. It's by far the easiest airport to navigate; finding your gate is simple and direct. I love it.

I defy anyone not to be impressed when they walk through Chek Lap Kok for the first time.
