Rotary Rings

More and more often I hear mobile phone ring tones which mimic the bells of an old rotary telephone.

The bells are damned near pleasant when compared with the plethora of annoying beeps, trills and polyphonic warbles spewing from phones all over Hong Kong.

The throwback chimes call to mind a slower age, when people would excuse themselves to locate a phone and converse in relative privacy.
