BWG has turned six. October 1 is also the sixth anniversary of my move to Hong Kong.

View large image In Cantonese, luhk (six) is a homonym for the name of one of the Three Immortals (Fuk, Luhk, Sauh); Luhk is the god of power, authority and success.

In temples, goddess statues often have six additional arms.

According to feng shui, six is also an auspicious number because it's twice three (considered a lucky number because it takes a minimum of three points to form a geometric shape). Since three begins all things, six means one will double everything one begins with. This is why the triple digit figure 666 is popular among the Chinese, regardless of its negative connotation in Western society.

I should be in for a great year, yet I'm troubled.

If I begin with debt, does that mean I'll double it? I have a wife and I'm happy with her; I don't want another one.

I'm afraid to take my pants off.
