While armed robbery in the midst of a tourist district is troubling, the funniest piece of reporting came in a follow-up article citing witnesses to the sting:

Three young women who witnessed the dramatic arrest said it was like watching a Jackie Chan movie - but more exciting and frightening.

The three ... squatted, used their handbags as shields and huddled together as armed police in bullet-proof vests fired two shots and arrested three suspects.

Because we all know that no bullet could ever penetrate a woman's handbag.
