The Dumbest Statement of the Year Award goes to the Police Superintendent.

The Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North found a leather suitcase inside a cargo container that had been set ablaze. Inside the suitcase they found a crispy critter: a blindfolded and dismembered human body burnt to a cinder.

The Superintendent told reporters that "police were treating the case as murder".

There goes the next Chief of Police.
