Monkey-Man Jr. gets to keep Kam Ying.
Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department granted an extension of the special exception license to Chan Yiu-wing, the day after his father's funeral.
The department concluded it's impossible to return the monkey to the wild, given its relationship to Chan.
It is a joy for both me and Kam Ying, and I guess she knows it as well. I will buy some good fruit for her and we'll celebrate together.
As long as he fulfills the requirements of the license and renews it every two years, Kam Ying is his for life.
Should he live as long as his father, he'll be the Monkey Man for the next four decades.
