Rose Milk Soap Tea
During lunch in Macao, Mabel ordered a hot drink she'd never had: Rose Milk Tea.
The mug was filled with a liquid the exact colour and scent of institutional hand soap. Its sweetness could send a person into hyperglycemia with one taste.
Mabel took several brave sips, but the concoction proved undrinkable. I tried it and gagged on the sugar overdose; Strawberry Quik would be bland by comparison.
The cup was full when we left the table.
