The Yuen Long crocodile mocked the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department by sunning itself atop a cage trap.

The reptile's brain is the size of a thumb, yet it continues to outwit would-be captors. When media photographers closed in, it slipped into the water. The department was furious:

We were really very upset about the incident. We can only appeal to the media not to get too close. When you are trying to catch a wild animal like this you need to be patient, and we would only ask that the press is patient as well.

Crocodiles learn and adapt to changes with great speed; they avoid dangerous situations and seldom fall for the same trick twice.

Wile E. Crocodile must be wise to the trap, judging by the grin on its snout.
