Brass Attacks

Michelle, a new resident, sent me this e-mail after reading of weasels selling fake watches:

My husband and I both play in a brass ensemble; he plays tuba, which is not easy to find a replacement for.

They found a replacement tuba player who went out and bought a new horn. It is a Chinese copy of a Miraphone (which is what my husband plays), which is one of the best tuba manufacturers in the world.

Every time I think of it, I picture someone downtown in Hong Kong yelling out to tourists as they walk by: "Copy tuba, copy tuba!"

Try packing that in your suitcase.

Good luck getting it past customs.
