Reckless Abandonment

Little villages often yield the unexpected.

View large image While visiting one I was surprised to find the rusted hulk of a Toyota left to the elements squatting outside the gate.

It had been gutted; everything of value had been stripped. It was impossible to tell how long the carcass had been sitting there.

The first thing that popped into my head was the film Planes, Trains and Automobiles:

Oh, this isn't so bad. I'd thought it would be a lot worse than this. They'll be able to buff this up no problem.

Later I learned the car had been burned and was awaiting the result of a police investigation.
