What This Site Isn't

Occasionally the odd person accuses me of being boring and a crappy writer.

Let's review what this site isn't:

· It isn't political. Folks outside Hong Kong don't give a rat's ass about our politics.

· It isn't satirical. I don't trash other web sites in a sorry attempt to gain attention.

· It isn't risqué; there are no photos of half-naked Asian women, and I don't give readers a play-by-play of a hedonistic, debauched lifestyle. I have no intention of becoming another pathetic, overweight, middle-aged expatriate trying to gain fulfillment through bedding as many Asian females as possible.

Look, it's simple. Hong Kong is my home, and I choose to look at the more ordinary aspects of life, highlighting the differences from my life in Canada. Those who regularly visit have found something of interest. They appreciate that the site is written with good grammar, spelling and punctuation, and that the design doesn't make their eyes bleed.

As for the critics, if this site is so boring, why the heck do they continue to read it?
