Redoubt Revisited
I went up to the Shing Mun Redoubt for my second visit.
Armed with a proper map of the citadel, I charged through all the tunnels but two: one that was flooded and another filled with silt. This time the tunnels were free of spiders.
I went through the sections I'd missed during my previous exploration and found the remains of pillboxes that had been shelled into oblivion after the Japanese took the redoubt. In some places I had to fight my way through heavy undergrowth.
I was impressed with the excellent condition of the underground fortress; the government ought to turn it into a museum.
