There Was An Old Lady

Most of you will be familiar with the children's nursery rhyme that goes like this:

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - perhaps she'll die!

It goes on to list the things the old lady swallowed in order to be rid of the fly: spider, bird, cat, dog, cow and then a horse. The horse was her final undoing.

Because of time constraints in this hectic city, the Hong Kong version is shorter:

There was an old lady who swallowed a roach
I don't know why she swallowed a roach - perhaps she'll croak!

There was an old lady who swallowed some Raid®...
She's dead, I'm afraid!

There's a lesson in there somewhere. It's either 'don't sleep with your mouth open' or 'don't eat cockroach poison'.

Probably both.
