Fist of Legend

On the way through Narita Airport in Tokyo, I spotted a familiar face in the cafeteria where we were having lunch:

View large image This is the actor Billy Chow Bei-Lei. Among 42 films in which he has appeared is the 1994 film, Fist of Legend. He played the evil Japanese General Fujita, the nemesis of Chen Zhen, played by none other than Jet Li.

Unlike his character in that film, Billy is a nice guy. He seemed surprised that I recognised him, but he was happy to pose for the photo. I spoke with him for a few minutes and learned he lives in Hong Kong. Billy is a kickboxer, which is why he's in great shape.

If you haven't seen Fist of Legend, it's a great flick. Make sure you get the original Chinese release with English subtitles, not the dubbed American version.
