Feral and Free
A trek along the Wilson Trail from Shing Mun Reservoir down to Tai Po Market treated me to a variety of wildlife, including several geckos, a chameleon, manifold butterflies and more than two dozen feral monkeys, including this one:
The simians were curious yet fearful, keeping their distance and scampering up trees anytime the biped drew too close.
It was great to see the monkey families, many of which had babies, free to come and go as they pleased. It beats the Hell out of the enclosure of any zoo in the world.
In Hong Kong, the beauty of nature is a short distance away from the concrete jungle.
