The Psychic Restaurant
We'd just finished dim sum and asked for the check.
Ordinarily, someone brings the bill and then takes the payment. If paid by cash, they go to get change. If paid by credit card, they leave to process it.
When the hostess returned with our bill, I pulled out some cash and handed it to her, expecting her to run off to break the larger bills. Instead, she opened the little black leather wallet (that all restaurants seem to have) with my change already there.
How'd they know I was going to pay cash?
