Open Season
A group of nine Vietnamese illegal immigrants disembarked from a sampan and came ashore in the New Territories.
They were spotted by an employee of China Light and Power who called the police. When confronted, one of the suspects came at a police officer with a 20cm knife. After warning the man to stop, the cop shot him. Another of the immigrants was armed with a cutter, but he was taken down by three other officers.
With one man in the hospital, the other eight are being held at the cop shop. Police say the men paid between HK$600 to $1,000 each to go from North Vietnam to Hong Kong by boat.
But the moral of the story is not about illegal immigration.
The real lesson is: don't charge a cop with a weapon, because he will bust a cap in your ass.
