Jaywalking Is Dangerous

Jaywalking in Hong Kong is a fact of life.

Everyone does it, and every now and then someone gets killed. Pedestrians do not have the right of way.

Hong Kongers are in such a hurry they take awful chances with traffic, which consists of buses, minibuses, trams, trucks, cars, motorcycles, taxis, bicycles and other pedestrians all jockeying for position.

When I see people dash in front of fast moving traffic all I can think is: what if they trip?
