Morning Drills

Anyone who's ever heard a jackhammer knows how loud and annoying they are.

Workmen began drilling into the cement walls of the flat across the hall at 8am, waking me earlier than I'd planned.

Cement drills stutter; our whole flat is vibrating.

To drown out the irritating sound, I've got hip-hop music turned to high volume. If I'm lucky it'll make them want to leave early.

Or it might if they could hear it.
