Smashed

When Hong Kong police make a large number of arrests at once, whether it be triads, software pirates, smugglers or a syndicate, the newspapers always use the word smashed to describe the victory.

Arresting isn't good enough; they have to be smashed?

In Canada, getting smashed means killing a 26-pounder or a couple of cases of beer.
