Kai Attack

Did you know that Ramzi Yousef, jailed for the 1993 bomb attack on the World Trade Centre, was plotting to blow up 12 American planes over east Asia in 1995, including one over the Kowloon City approach to Kai Tak Airport?

And in 1978, hundreds of Hong Kong police were placed on high alert after credible intelligence was received that Illich Ramirez Sanchez, a.k.a. Carlos the Jackal, was working with the infamous terrorist group Japanese Red Army to shoot down a Lufthansa flight on its approach to Kai Tak Airport using a rocket-launcher from a Kowloon City vantage point.

Good thing Kai Tak is no longer operational.
